So today the Dallas Punk Ass Police charged Ms Erykah Badu with disorderly conduct and a citation for her shoot of her new video "Window Seat" where she stripped down completely nude at the assassination site of JFK.. I know rules are rules and laws are laws but fuck that! We came into this world naked and we have no conscious of it being right or wrong until someone tells us its not ok to walk around that way.. I mean its illegal to be in public nude but porno's are ok.. She wasn't having sex on the side walk.. I mean the children that were present to witness this can just as easily go home hop on the Internet and go look at all the ass they want too.. You may not understand what I'm getting at.. I just feel that nudity is beautiful and powerful some people are afraid of themselves because society has created rules out of insecurities.. Martin Luther King and every other powerful person who needed or felt the need to get a point across had to go to drastic measures to accomplish this.. I think she was simply saying " stop living by the rules so much, don't forget the people who made these rules are human too, no better than you or me... EXPRESS YOURSELF or LOSE YOURSELF.. yes naked at the JFK assassination site was heavy but I think that was the idea.. We all are made the same wit the same things either you're male or female, just because you re ashamed of what you got because society says fat isn't beautiful or skinny looks sick doesn't mean that I shouldn't flaunt what I got... Adam and Eve were butt naked in the beginning but it never said Adam had a six pack and Eve had a bikini body.. My point is I respect her for being who she is and I wish more people could be that way.. The world would be a more happy and authentic place where all shapes and size are considered beautiful.. Stay strong as we know you will Ms. Badu.. Until next time, this is my FEED BACK
i FEEL yA ON THiS. TRUE TRUE!
ReplyDeletei totally agree. I love being naked( not even implying anything bad) but if i dont love my body who will. and also agree that if she was not being provocative then they were just taking it over the top. oh well at the end of the day she still made a statement.- Janae
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%! I do not think that she has done anything wrong or immoral! I feel like if they are going to press charges on her then there is a long list of people who should also e charged like Rhianna, Kelis, Beyonce and Deangelo just to name a few! I think that Eryka should contest it and stand up against society and their ignorance and need for unnecessary controversy!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with u
ReplyDeleteWell I Feel That Ms.Badu Shouldn't Be Charged For Anything Because She Is A Free Indiviual Who Isn;t Afraid What Ppl Say Or Do. And That's Why I Appreciate Her As An Artist So Much, Because Unlike A Lot Of Celebrities, She's Real About Her Art. And She I Not Afraid To Show It...
ReplyDeletei agree in the society we live in today it's like the media makes it seem as if there is only one specific look that and that's the only way your going to get accepted anywhere. The sad part is alot of(young)people are trying to achieve this "perfect look" which is really stupid. I personally think charging her was really pointless because at the end of the day she did what she set out to do and they only charged her because they don't know how to handle the situation any other way.
ReplyDeleteThe funny part is when she was doing the video, no one called the police, no one did anything. That is until the news reported it. Now the key stone cops want to react...smdh But I ain't gon lie, if I saw her strippin, I would've stopped her and asked her if was she nuts?!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, everyone should be proud in their own skin. I'm glad that Erykah Badu is unique and is going against the norm. We need a lot more leaders not followers and if she wants to strip down more power to the sister.

i agree with you Rell. i love when you speak on topics and speak your mind. you have so much knowledge that people wouldnt of even known you had. your a smart ass young black brotha. i love reading your stuff cause u basically being real with it. like on your twitter earler lol.
ReplyDeletea funny thing is. i seen the video and read some of the comments under youtube. some people pointed out that she didnt really get naked in front of them people. if you look at the ending when she's completely getting naked no one is even looking at her. they either lookin ahead or somewhere else. it might not even be a real actual scenery where people was there.
or then again it might of been real.
but still they need to get over it. it's much crazier shit that happen in the street then what she did in her video.

ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Erykah Badu is being charged. She didn't just decide to walk down the street and strip. She was just simply shooting a scene for her music video. If anyone knows anything about Ms. Badu she is very expressive. It is stupid and sad that Erykah has to pay $500.00. If it was soooo wrong for her to be nude, how come the police didn't stop her when she shooting the video? They just want to embarrass her. Well people who didn't know about Ms. Badu before they know about her now:-)
ReplyDeleteLOL Being that Dallas Texas Is My Hometown and i was standing right there on location when it happened and i had my Daugters with me i felt if she was makeing a Powerful statement fuck DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT i think these Cops just wanted too blow shit up just like they did, Also Knowing Erykah and her Family who stays in Whiter Rock Texas She ment no HARM!!! 500.00 that the county needed so bad lol Cheap Basterds I love her, I Love the Video i Love it Again Fuck Dallas Police!!! Jarell y dont you get naked and Do the same Thing?
ReplyDeleteIts nothing wrong with being naked 4 real and 4 her 2 get that's crazy..
ReplyDeletethat sounds all good..but at the end of the day..she broke the law..there are ways she could have gone about shooting the video..ESPECIALLY with the technology today..my thing is..the police are already looking for a reason to get you..and she walked right into it..theres nothing wrong with loving yourself..loving your body..and i somewhat understand what she was trying to do..but truth be told..its ways to "reach the people" effectively without exposing yourself..that being said..her essential message matters little bc all the controversy is over her being nude..
